Rockboy - Can't access menu
(1/1)
FedoraTheExplorer:
DEVICE: Ipod Classic, 80g
Version: 8618f2c-141129
The hold switch on the device does not access the application's menu.
If possible, is there anything I can do to fix this
Note that I have never once managed to access the menu on the device, so I have not changed the controls in any way as of yet.
If for some reason the hold switch will not work properly for this function on this device regardless of what I could do to it, would it be possible to change the menu key to the center button of the iPod, without using the menu? If so, how could I go about doing this.

Hold switches breaking/malfunctioning is not unheard of.
Is your hold switch broken, i.e., does the backlight turn off when you turn on your hold switch?
In this case you could potentially work around the issue by modifying the plugin's keymap so a certain key combo brings up the menu.
EDIT: hold switch detection seems to have been broken on the classic lately (see http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/1148 for a patch)

I'm not sure if its "lately", I don't think it ever worked.
But, yeah - that patch will work, but half of the changeset appears to be questionable.

I would say that I remember quite clearly a time when it "worked." But if I said that, you would question my memory. So I won't mention it. :P
