New option for sleep timer

(1/1)

DTSyX:
Hi,

I'd like to propose an idea for an additional option for the sleep timer.

The option I'd like to have is: "Just stop playing, don't shut down the player!"

Why?

After upgrading my H140 from hdd to ssd the player, i.e. the ssd, needs a lot of battery life when booting. I'm not sure if that is the case with every ssd, but it certainly is the habit of the 1tb msata Samsung ssd.

So, I think it would save power if the player would not shut down when the sleep timer is going off, but just stop playing.  I'd have to do tests, but I think, having the player waiting for maybe 12-24h in idle mode is less power consuming than powering it off and on again with 12-24h inbetween.
That is for the H140 with Samsung 1tb ssd, of course. I can't comment on any other player or ssd.

Thanks for considering.

Mike

The power used booting would be very small compared to idling for a few minutes.
