Generally (but not always) headphones with low impedance have higher sensitivity. But if you want lower distortion better look at high impedance headphones.

This patch have drawback - bigger consumption on pause. But (IMHO) clicks much worse than consumption on pause.
saratoga, what do you think about this?

I don't mind higher power consumption on pause.  Its done infrequently, the difference is small, and most people have their player set to power off when paused for long.
