Updated itdb2tc
« on: January 22, 2015, 04:46:09 PM »
I'm trying to use iTunes to transfer music to my iPod Mini and then access it using Rockbox's database. Unfortunately, if I let iTunes reencode the music files during transfer, no ID3 tags are written and Rockbox indexes them as untagged. As an alternative, I started looking at itdb2tc which is supposed to read the iPod's own database and generate an RB database. This program, however, was written for an earlier version of the db and is not compatible.

I've tried updating the program according to the file description in the wiki, but have not been successful in being able to use the resulting database.

So, before I continue to reinvent the wheel, does anyone have a version of itdb2tc which works with a modern RB version?

Thanks...
John

Related question... is the format of database_tmp.tcd documented anywhere? I'm wondering if it might be easier to generate one of those files and then let RB do the database commit.

Thanks...

I think for this you're going to want to look at the source code.  Even if there is documentation, its probably not going to be completely up to date.
