Will Clip+ support 128 GB micro SD?

(1/1)

Lexander:
Hello. I'm looking for an inexpensive,  high capacity player, but I thought the best way is to upgrade memory in my sansa clip+. Now I have 32 GB, which fits my audio library in mp3, but I want to listen in flac and I really like this player and Rockbox on it. My question is - does Rockbox support 128 micro SD card?

saratoga:
Yeah our driver should be good up to 2TB, although you'll have to reformat the disk as fat32 (SDXC cards come formatted as exfat which we haven't gotten around to adding support for).

The idea of "supports up to *GB" is almost always born of marketers who have absolutely zero idea about the sd standard and simply want to appeal to the consumer.

When they state the supported capacity of a device's removable sd storage, it is usually directly linked to the largest sd card available for sale at the time of marketing. There are a few cases where there actually are artificial limitations imposed on how much storage a device can address, but this is relatively rare in my experience, and wouldn't apply to Rockbox anyway.
