Advice for selecting new player for MSC support
« on: January 07, 2015, 08:33:32 AM »
My trusty e260 just fried its input port, cannot charge it.

I'm looking into getting a Rockbox compatible player, and one issue rises to the top for me.

I do NOT like MTP mode for file operations on MP3 players. I prefer to use the device as if it were a flash drive.

My questions are for selecting a player based on MSC mode for USB interfacing to my Linux Systems.

Is MSC only based in the particular USB hardware of the device or is it a software only routine?

From there, I'd select players which support MSC mode for USB, is there such a list?

Fuze or clip would be the obvious upgrade.
