Enhanced folder options.

(1/1)

EndGame:
One of the things that kept me away from the iAudio X5 is that it has very poor folder/music organization (or lacking such features that are standard in many other players). I'd like easy to use and comprehensive folders and playlists. Will the Rockbox do that for me?

Thanks.

Llorean:
Depends. How do you define "Easy to use" and what do you mean by "comprehensive?"

My first suggestion is that you actually read the manual and find out what the software is capable of.

EndGame:
It looks like the Rockbox software will basically add the organizational features to the iAudio that the iPod and Creative Zen for example have. ID3v2 and all. I was just curious if anyone who owns the iAudio found the Rockbox firmware greatly enhances the player for organizing and playing back the music.

Bloody_Sorcerer:
i don't find that it greatly enhances the player for organizing or playing back music, but i thought that the original navigation structure was fine to begin with. I'm going to take the path less travelled and state that i prefer folder-based browsing to ID3 database browsing, especially because editing and cleaning up ID3 tags is far more annoying than keeping a folder-based system organized, regardless of what the ID3 tags say (ie the differences between artist names such as "blink 182" versus "blink-182" and so on that spawn so many different categories etc in an ID3 database)
