What was your first rockbox device

im curious to know what device got everyone into the rockbox firmware  mine was a sansa e200v2 then was an ipod nano 1g and then ipod classic 5.5g then a fuze+ wich i currently have

i found the 5.5g in a pawn shop   not knowing what it was i bought it    finding it didnt support rockbox natively i had to use a custom bootloader   (emcore if i remember properly) unfortunately the device died to a magnet being set ontop of it   currently have a ipod classic 5g on order (if nobody outbids me on ebay lol)

I suspect you mean the iPod 6/7G.

As you can see on the main page the 5.5G is supported, and has been for a very long time.

On a side note: That must have been a very powerful magnet, like...somewhere in the order of several lbs of rare earth magnet. Contrary to popular belief its actually fairly difficult to do any meaningful damage to the device with magnetism alone, and virtually impossible to do any lasting physical damage in this fashion. If this was the case, you'll almost certainly find the hardware to be completely recoverable.

well the end of that ipod happened probalyl 3 or 4 years ago   it was thrown in a bag with a rather strong magnet *from a hard drive* and i found the magnet stuck to the iPods back case and when i turned it on it went click click click  the ipod died from ipods HDD was click of death    it was definitly an ipod 5.5g    that
