Sansa clip + Problem

I am trying to load Rockbox on my new Sansa clip +, however I get to the part where I need to find the original sandisk firmware bin file and am failing. I have found a bin file on my sansa clip which didn't work, so went to the internet a google search gave me anther file to try, again with no luck. Can anyone help?

The screen that pops up asking you for a file has a link to it.  Failing that, you can download it directly from Sandisk.  Its not on your player though, so don't bother looking there.

Have tried to get the file from the sandisk website by clicking on the link. Downloaded sandisk updater install and that doesn't seem to want to run on my lap top. Found a file called clppa.bin the anythingbutipod forum but rockbox doesn't like this file either.

I am running windows 8 so I thought that might be why sandisk updater doesn't work, but cannot figure out how else to get the correct file.

You don't need the updater, you need the actual firmware file.  Go back and download the correct file.

FWIW, given that you can in theory completely break your device by doing the wrong thing, this is one of those times it might be a good idea to read the entirety of what is on the screen, not just skip to the end and try random things.
