Sansa Clip+ AAC support (with standard menu)

Hi; I'm new here so forgive e for not knowing the technical terms and all that. All I know about RockBox is that it's a platform allowing people to create their own custom menus/features for music players.

Yesterday I got a Sansa Clip+ because of the microSD slot which I'm finding really handy at the moment, but one thing that annoys me a lot is the lack of AAC, which I used to encode my music with on a Sony Walkman (E464, which was great up until one of the buttons came off) and I don't want to waste my time re-ripping my CDs. I have looked into RockBoxing my player as it seems an insteresting way to bypass some restrictions, such as lack of AAC support. I know that AAC playback is supported by RockBox, but I want to know if there is a way to have AAC support on the Clip+ but with the original menu+playback screen, as I find it to be more ergonomic and user-friendly than many of the custom menus which are a little too cluttered for my purposes.

I was wondering if there was a way to have AAC support but with the original menu/playback screen. Is this possible?

No.

Can you give me the reasons why?

You'd have to either write a firmware that mimicked the Sandisk UI, or else convince Sandisk to release a firmware that had the features you wanted.  If you're even asking this question here on these forums, its not possible for you to do either of those things.

Thank you very much for the help. Which RockBox theme is most similar to the original SanDisk UI?
