Problem removing/restoring iPod Classic

(1/1)

Timotonx:
So I never really managed to install rockbox properly on my iPod Classic 160G, it wouldn't add all of my files and at one point wouldn't even play a single song. So I am trying to restore it.
I searched around and  found that I needed to press Menu+Select and then activate the "hold" when it reboots so the iPod can boot with apple's boot instead, and then  it would be detected by iTunes which would allow me to restore it.
BUT when instead of booting normally it keeps booting rockbox. If I can't get that first step to work I can't restore my iPod. I need help!

I'm not sure where you got that from, that's for the iPod models that are actually supported by Rockbox.

This one, isn't.

It relies on a third party bootloader not sanctioned by Rockbox at all in any way, the installation of which completely removes the original firmware partition because dual boot is not possible currently and the additional space is more valuable to the user than a firmware they can't use.

You need to refer to Freemyipod's instructions and support for uninstalling the emCORE bootloader and Rockbox on this device.

Wow that was so simple I don't know how I managed not to find this... thank you for your help, totally saved me!
