unable to locate saved playlists on sansa clip zip

(1/2) > >>

mike rowcosm:
This is my first post to this forum, so first of all I would like to say thanks for creating this firmware, which has significantly improved the sound quality and volume of my sansa 8gb clip zip, along with making it possible to use a 64 gb micro sd card.
The only problem has been with the creation and saving of playlists.  I've searched this forum as well as google, and racked my brain trying to figure it out on the device and still remain baffled.  So far I've tried inserting the desired songs into 'current playlist', then saving that playlist by long pressing the select button which appears to save it, but then i'm unable to locate the saved list (it doesn't appear in the playlist catalogue or anywhere else on the player).  Strangely enough, it does appear when I plug the player into my laptop via usb, and go to the 'playlists' option in the main files menu as it appears on the laptop (when I go to this option on the player itself there is nothing listed).
I've also tried fooling around with the other features such as 'create playlist' and 'add to new playlist', along with creating paths for the playlist names such as /Playlists, so at this point i'm completely stumped.
thanks for any help  :)

btw, I really have gone through all the other threads in this forum I could find on the subject, trying the supposed solutions but still with no success.  When I save current playlist, supposedly it is directed to the root of the player, but i'm not sure where the root is (searched the forum and still not clear on this), but I've pretty much scoured every available location on the player by long pressing and short pressing all of the options available on the menu, and still can't find the location of the saved playlist.

HAAALLLPP!!!

So basically the first directory under files.

I'm still a little unclear on what you are doing. If you save to /my folder/list.m3u you're saying that file isn't created ?

You don't happen to have the 'Show Files' setting set to something weird, do you?

Thanks for the help guys. I finally got it workin now.  I checked out the 'show files' option and switched it from 'supported' to 'all'.  I could then find the playlists I had saved.  One thing I've noticed is that the playlist name has to include the code 'm3u8', or else it won't play.  For instance if I insert a group of songs into 'current playlist' and then save it as /##MUSIC#/music/(playlist name).m3u8, I can then locate it in Files>>##MUSIC#>>Music>(playlist name).m3u8.  If m3u8 isn't included, the playlist won't play.  If the playlist is created from songs on the SD card, the playlist name becomes /<microSD1>/(playlist name).m3u8.
To make the Playlist Catalogue the destination of the saved playlist, the name needs to be /Playlists/(playlist name).m3u8
