database issues

I have recently updated rockbox after not updating for a couple of years.
Before I updated I could go to the database and then to recently added where it would show all the music added in the last few weeks.
Since the update this no longer works.
After every time i connect to a pc to add new music, when I go to the database it always asks me "initialise Y or N" and if I go to the "recently added" section it is empty.
If I go to file and then music, everything new I have just added is there.

I can't work out why this function is no longer working when it has worked for the past 8 years or so

Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated
