No audio for V2 Sansa Fuze firmware when played through Sansa dock or USB

First, 1001 thanks to the Rockbox team for creating such a great free product.  I'm fairly new to Rockbox.  Hated it during Week 1 and couldn't live without it starting with Week 2.

Background:  Mine is a Sansa Fuze family.  The four of us collectively have 9 Fuzes (the older superior models) and 5 Altec Lansing docks.  Of the 9 Fuzes, 7 employ Version 2 firmware.  As luck would have it, I happened to install Rockbox on one of the two Version 1 players.  Worked fine on the docs as well as via USB ports in our car stereos.  Then, I installed RB on a V2 player and then eventually trying three other V2 players.   In each case, Rockbox would not play through a dock or USB; however, when I booted up the Sansa firmware, it would play fine.  So, this seems to be a Rockbox issue.

If at all possible, my family and I hope this issue can be addressed with your next update.  It has been difficult to locate V1 players for sale on eBay and Amazon.  Plus, we'd love to be able to use our now-dormant 7 V2 Fuzes.

No one has figured out how to detect the dock connector on the V2.  There is a patch on the tracker that lets you manually enable line out, but without someway to detect when its needed its very awkward.

The patch works really well. When docking or USB you select the line out option and when using headphones you select the headphone option. The patch adds these option under settings.

if we hook the line out so it can be enabled from the USB connect screen or an option that is available when there is power going into it    or possably even holding say select and pressing a volume button will enable line out

Thanks for the replies.  And now a typical newbie question:  How do I locate and install this patch?  I'm unsure what the "tracker" is.  Thanks in advance for the assist, as well as the photon or two of light at tunnel's end.

Just curious, has any progress been made on this issue over the years before I buy a replacement, or is it considered a lost cause?

Edit: Might be a moot point since I can't even find any of the adapters for sale anywhere. Serves me right for waiting so long to get one of these.
