Sansa Clip+ - Rockbox SD cards and audible
saratoga:
Stupid question but how are checking if the SD card is present? It should mount in the file browser.

Yes it is. It shows as connected via the clip+ in windows (i.e. the add/remove command has both of them removed together)
Oh it's a 64GB in what I thought was fat32 but perhaps I should reformat it to be sure. Can you recommend a reliable tool for that?

It should show in the file browser in rockbox.
And yes it must be FAT32 formatted if you want to use it in Sandisk device.

Think I've got it working now. Wiped it all, started again. Discovered card was in exFat all along. Took an entire evening trying to format it, 2hrs into a proper full format it crashed - became undetectable and had to be hastily put in my phone for reformatting just to get windows to detect it. Then moved over and formatted to fat32. What a hassle.
Just transferring stuff across now but will need to wait and see if it works.

Okay, it works pretty much exactly as I had hoped - it even remembers my position in my audible books even though I switched the Sansa firmware off and back on again before returning to them. Colour me impressed. I have just two issues and I wonder if you lovely rockbox folks could help me further with them.
1. The hold/lock function. I like being able to lock my player in my pocket to avoid skipping tracks/interuptions etc. but a two button locking procedure is a pain. I only have use of one of my hands so reaching both home/select is awkward. Is there a way to amend the controls on my player for a single button lock?
2. Manual patching / customising the database. Like a lot of people I like listening to things in discography order, I found this patch here (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/8051) which helpfully does that but I'm frankly clueless about messing about with code and don't want to break things. Can anyone direct me to an idiot's guide to patching?
