Database problems

I've been having problems with my Sansa Fuze (V1) & the database. It stopped seeing everything I had on the player & microsd card. So I finally updated the RB firmware. No problems with that. I have a 32gb microsd card & the 8g in the player. I started the database to scan and left it t do its work. Now, when I go to database, it tells me it's not ready & I should initialize it. I press ok, and get the following error message:

I press the select button & it re-starts, but the same things happens again. Should I re-load the firmware? Something else? If I do re-load the FW, will I have to run the DB refresh again? I'm thinking yes to that last part, and that's the closest I can get to figuring this all out. And, of course, I'm about to leave on a big trip in a week, so really want to figure this all out.

Just to follow up to my own post...
I re-loaded the firmware.
I deleted some files I thought may have been bad.
I went through all the new stuff I put on & made sure the tags were correct.
I removed some embedded album art.
I tried to re-scan the database.
I get the same message.
In the debugging section, if this helps anyone, I get the following:
RAM Cache: No
RAM 0/0 B
Progress: 0% (0 entries)
Curfile: --
Commit step: 0
Commit Delayed No
Queue length: 0

I don't know if the above with be helpful to anyone or not, but after digging around this forum & the 'net in general, I'm stumped on how to get my database back.

And to close this (in case anyone ever finds it searching this problem), the only solution I found was to uninstall RB and do a fresh install. I took it all out (bootloader included. Not sure it was necessary. Make sure you have the original FW around before you do this) and put it right back on. Refreshed the database & it works like it used to.
Still love me some RB... ;)
