Problem with EmCORE on 7th Gen iPod Classic

(1/1)

bernardvan:
Hi

I've tried following the EmCORE instructions for installing on a 7th Gen iPod classic but can't get past the early stage where my iPod is supposed to display a new USB device called "Apple Recovery (DFU) USB Driver" and then a 64MB drive called "UMSboot".  Once I've held the menu & select buttons to shut it down, the screen does stay black but it doesn't register on the computer.  It seemed to load up a driver but still nothing.

What should I do?   :-\ Anyone help with this please?

The Rockbox team does not support EmCore, so you will need to contact their support.  The link is here: http://www.freemyipod.org/wiki/Contact

I installed using Linux a week or two ago and didn't have any problems.  When you contact them, make sure you tell them what version of your operating system you are using (Windows XP/Vista/7/8 etc.)

Hi, yes I asked for support there but didn't get a response.  Perhaps I didn't wait on there long enough but my internet went down and I lost the connection after about 20mins.  I know some EmCORE support also operate on this site so perhaps I might find help here.
