Hi, I installed it on my ipod 5.5 with  ver 3.13 and the eq box is blank...eq on or eq off same difference 
Is this normal becuase it is an ipod and was not designed for it ?
otherwise i like it a lot very good work!! 
please let me know if there is a way to see the eq in my ipod. thanks!

Hi, thank You for bug-report and for appreciation to my work.
RedBox is designed and tested on touchscreen devices. I make any modifications and try in iPod Video simulator - EQ is working. Problem was, that No-touchscreen devices not support variables. Second problem was, that eq was inverted.
Please, download and test NoTouch version on Your iPod and write me if is working.

Hi it still does not work in my ipod with v3.13 (the official release ver)
i tried your v1.52 and v1.50 no touch,... no difference, the eq box is still blank in my ipod 5.5
BUT
in the ipod simulator it works fine....
so
i think the problem is that the latest rockbox build brakes some themes and the simulator is based on the latest developer build and not the latest stable release (3.13)   

i have the same problem with my custom wps . i made a very nice 10 band eq display which works great in my ipod with 3.13 but when i install the latest build (this was a few months ago) all my 10 bands were pushes to the left and the one band that was still there was showing the wrong setting. i mentioned it here

Anyway if you like i can send you my wps with the cool eq that works flawlessly as long as you are using the official 3.13 build and maybe you can use it for yourself in some way, i also made the volume display from 0 to 100%
