13 years was a long run and the ipod video 5.5 (with a toshiba 240gb zif drive) is still the best of ALL time for me . Best audiophile sound, great battery life, great interface, easy to open and mod/replace parts.  Im not a big fan of the 6g and 7g ipods but I know some people are - to each their own.  Only good thing about the 6 and 7 were the aluminum cover and radio (update it has no radio-sorry).
also no more new devices with a 30 pin dock connector now.

I don't think either the 6, 6.5, or 7 has radio.
Though the anodized aluminum is nice.

Also remember that just because they've stopped selling it, that doesn't mean you can't use them. ;)
