Fix pitch settings
(1/1)
dryphi:
First off, I love the additional configuration and playback settings that the Rockbox project offers.
Is there a way to make the pitch / playback speed setting permanent?
Every time I turn the device on I have to reset this setting. It's just a few key presses (center button - hold right - power) but still.
As much as I hate to admit it, I think the iPod had this function right. Seems to me you'd almost never want to adjust playback speed settings for music. However for audiobooks (what I'm listening to currently) you would.
It would be nice if you could store the playback speed setting (or pitch, I don't understand the difference) for a particular folder.

Rockbox got this right too...
We just don't make any assumptions about how a user wants to use their device and which features they are going to enable.
Rockbox will preserve speed and pitch settings in bookmarks, and since your use case is audio books, I would posit bookmarks would be handy for you for other reasons as well.
The relevant section of our fine manual is:
--- Code: ---8.7. Bookmarking
--- End code ---

Sorry if you got the wrong impression, but obviously I prefer this player with Rockbox, because I'm using it :)
I'm sure you're right, and the fault is mine in that I'm not aware of (or don't understand) all the different features and settings. There's so much additional functionality, it takes a lot of time and effort to learn about it. I'm using the player listen to lectures on the go as I study for the exam, and I really don't have the time right now to dedicate to figuring it out on my own.
Thanks for the pointer. I will look into playing with the bookmarking and update on stop features.
