Which band are affected by the treble setting ?
« on: August 29, 2014, 12:30:37 PM »
Hi :)

"In some ways the EQ is similar to the Bass and Treble settings described earlier, but
the EQ allows you to control the sound much more carefully. Note that the parameteric
EQ bands will be applied in addition to any bass or treble tone controls.
"

I have this treble setting: -5db.
Which band should i set to get the same result with equalizer ?

Thanks

The tone controls are implemented with a single bishelf filter that has a lower cutoff at 200 Hz (bass) and higher cutoff at 3500 (treble).  Not sure what the closest Q value is in the EQ.

Thanks for your quick reply :)

My sansa clip + equalizer (rockbox) has the following bands:

32, 64, 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000 and 16000.

So, a closed setting to treble -5db could be to set the 4k, 8k and 16k bands to -5db ?

No that won't do it, and would be very bad for your battery life.  Aside from the last band, most of those are peaking filters, not low pass filters.  Take a look at the High shelf filter in the manual.

So i should change the frequaency of the hs filter from 16000 to 4000 and set it to -5db ?
