Avoiding syncing duplicates when using internal & MSDHC cards

(1/2) > >>

I have a Sandisk Cip Zip with a MSDHC card and use MediaMonkey.  When putting music files on both the internal memory and inserted card, what is the best way to avoid putting duplicate music files on the player?

For example, I place large collections of specific musicians on the internal memory and then when syncing playlists including songs from these artists along with other musicians to the memory card, how is it best to avoid duplicating these all ready synced songs also on the inserted memory card?

When I use a file explorer program, I can see the duplicate music files on both the internal and external memory sources.

Thank you...

I haven't used MediaMonkey in years, but if there is an ability to sync 'smartlists' or dynamic playlists, you can just make rules to exclude files that are present in the playlists destined for the internal/external memory and vice versa.

This is really a question for the MM board, however.

Thanks for the reply...I left off that I'm using RockBox on my player, too....so that's why I asked it here...

Of course, but this question is about MediaMonkey, so its probably better to ask the MediaMonkey people.  Not very many people here will know about MediaMonkey.

Still, it's about the Rockbox firmware.....
