Playback does not resume on the last track played. Sansa Clip+

(1/1)

MattyC:
Hi to all.

Before writing this post let me state that I have looked through every thread available that had any information similar to my problem.
The Resume Playback function on my Sansa Clip+ does not work properly. My understanding is that if I paused a track and the Clip+ shutsdown, if I turn the unit back on, it should pick up from the last track played, at the time the track was paused.

Unfortunately This is not the case. The player will often start at the beginning of the playlist and not the last track played. To make matters even more frustrating it seems to be intermittent. If I pause the track, shut the unit down manually and turn it on again, sometimes it will pick up where it left off. On most occasions when I switch the player on I will get a loading message on the screen and then I know the player has gone to the beginning of the playlist. Curiously if I test the player and pause, shut down and start up again in short periods of time it more often than not picks up where it left off. However if I leave the player turned off for a while, say over an hour or so, it will most definitely pick up at the beginning of the playlist. Here is the kicker, sometimes when I start the player it will pick up on a random position in the playlist no where near the position of the last track played.

I really like Rockbox but this is quite frustrating. I have tried using the stable build (3.13 )and the latest builds as well but my problem still persists. I have noticed that if I stop the track before shutting it down (lets call it track A) It will pick up from the last track played but if I play a couple of more tracks after that and I power off, and on again, the player will start up again from track A and not from the beginning of the playlist as it usually does... I'm sorry if this post is a little difficult to understand. I can't quite understand these patterns either.

I have all my music and playlists stored onto a 32GB SD Card. I have checked for corrupt file systems on both the card and the player and most importantly I have read through the manual several times to understand the behaviour of Auto Resume Playback and Bookmarks.

I have tried using a combination of both these features with no success.

These are the contents of my .cfg File Any help will be deeply appreciated.

I don't see anything wrong with yout config. Normally I'd start by sugfgesting checking the filesystem, but if you've already done that it's probably something else.

This might be related to http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12987, but I'm not sure

Thanks for the reply. The problems do seem similar sadly it seems there is no current fix for it. I have been struggling with this issue for quite some time and I lack the skills to find or mend this "bug" so I think its best I return the unit. Thank you for the help.
