View unsychronised embedded lyrics as plain text?

(1/1)

invinciblesummmer:
Surely there has to be a way? I can't seem to find one, apart from using text view to search across hundreds of pages of messed up unicode to find the lyrics, which is far too tedious. I mean, I'm even willing to create such a program if someone will point me in the right direction. I actually can't enjoy music without having the lyrics, and rockbox is so perfect in every aspect but this. Someone please help me!!!!

Exeleration-G:
Something I did to overcome this was saving the lyrics as the MP3 file name, but instead of .mp3, .txt as extension.

I made a Python script to automate this. Interested?

invinciblesummmer:
That's brilliant, and what I'm doing right now but the process is tedious, very, very interested in the script thanks!!! :)

Are you by any chance aware of Rockbox's lrcplayer plugin?

It is capable of displaying, among others, synced and unsynced lyrics read from the SYLT (synced) and USLT (unsynced) id3v2 metadata frames, as well as read from text files in a multitude of locations.

Our fine manual explains it much better than I'm prepared to.
