C200v1 Bricked, Erase not Working

(1/1)

__builtin:
My c250 started acting weird recently to the point where it would not boot properly (screen stays black on boot). Following the instructions on http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaE200Unbrick does not help - the screen remains black.

http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaC200Erase does not work, either - the screen remains blank after e200tool reports that execution has started.

I suspect that the filesystem has been corrupted by me forgetting to unmount the FS properly, but as I said before, erasing does not work.

What's wrong? Is the screen broken?

gevaerts:
While filesystem corruption is indeed a common cause for weirdness, in this case I wouldn't rule out hardware issues

__builtin:
So is there anything I can do to fix it? Wait?  :D

saratoga:
I would try to get e200tool to work.  If it really doesn't work, then its probably bad hardware.

__builtin:
e200tool works in the sense that it detects the player in manufacturing mode, if that's what you mean by "working", and writes to RAM successfully.

What should show on the screen when following the instructions on http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaC200Erase?

I really want to play some Doom ;D.
