iBasso DX50 compatibility
« on: July 01, 2014, 01:17:19 PM »
Sorry, I'm not sure which forum this should go in. I just purchased the iBasso DX50 in an attempt to upgrade from my iPod. The only thing is I'm a Linux user so I'm not sure how or IF this is going to work. I can live with drag and drop but I'd prefer it if Banshee or Rhythmbox could simply sync my whole library of mp3 and flac files. The only other concern I have is playlist, do I create them on the device or in my media player. Thanks guys.

The iBasso DX50 port was never merged into our source, so I'm not 100% sure how it works.  I would check and see if there are any directions included with the download for the firmware.

Its a little bit tricky, if my understanding is correct.

This port was built from (I think fairly heavily) adapting the existing Android port, so merging the iBasso source would nuke our existing Android builds (and/or add target specific code that doesn't have much business being part of the Android port).

What would need to happen is separating the two, and giving the iBasso its own build target.

Now, this isn't necessarily difficult, but nor is it trivial, and I'm not sure of anyone but the original port developer that actually has the hardware in question.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
