[SOLVED] Sansa Clip Zip - Can't confirm name when creating playlist
fnadde42:
Sorry for the delay, I've been on vacation.
My problem remains; I can't confirm and create a playlist.
If I use any of the directional buttons the cursor just moves around and if I use the center button or the "go back" button it just works as a backspace and deletes letters from my playlist name.
EDIT: if such a elementary feature like playlists are buggy then the Sansa Clip Zip should be moved from "Stable ports" to "Unstable ports" since it has "problems that limit it to advanced users".

Works for me on my Zip.

Take a look at how we define stable:

As you can see, the Zip fits our definition.
Serenity:
It works on my Zip as well.
Once you're done entering text, arrow down until the entire file name is highlighted. Once it's highlighted, hold the Select key until you get the message that your file was saved successfully.
If you highlight the file name and just press the Select key, it will delete a character. If you hold it down, it will save the file.
I agree with [Saint], it's not very intuitive, and not consistent across ports.

Thanks a bunch! It seems that a message flashes by (assuming it says something about successfully saved) and then I return to the "create playlist" option.
However, when I go back to the "Playlist catalogue" there is no playlist with that name.
Where am I supposed to start my playlist or view it's content?
EDIT: It seems that the playlists appears in the root folder of the player. How come they're not saved in the Playlist catalogue?
Serenity:
It does that--I forgot to warn you. I'm not sure why it behaves that way, but it's an easy cut-and-paste that you can even do from within Rockbox.
It saves playlists in the root directory on every target I've tried, so I assume there's a reason for it. Maybe I shouldn't.
