Were there some way to reliably fix this issue across the board, from our end, that was known, it's fairly safe to say we'd be all over it.

One thing you didn't mention, however, was whether or not you installed the release, or the developer snapshot.

The release is absolutely ancient, at this point. And it pays to note that the build classifications ("stable", "unstable", "unusable") are largely irrelevant to end users, and have no direct indication on stability or usability (we know its confusing).

If you have not, I would highly recommend installing the developer build, so that you make sure to get the past ~12+ months worth of updates and bug fixes.
