Hello dear Rockbox enthusiasts (and specially iBasso DX50/90, Cowon D2 or iPod Classic owners),
This thread was meant for testing the arc-en-ciel theme but I wasn't patient enough to wait for somebody to try it, so I released the theme on the Theme page. Please feel free to post here for suggestions for or questions about this theme...

Description
This theme is optimized for touchscreen targets and has an "infoscreen" within the WPS. D2 owners need to tap the white area to get to it, iPod owners need to enable "hold" mode. The main goal of this theme is to display only the information needed.
Info: The progressbar color is depending on song length (because I wanted to do something unique  . <60sec - red,yellow,green,blue,violet,pink - >6min)

Touchscreen control:
touchscreen areas in the top bar:

• top left - quickscreen
• top center - menu
• top right - context menu

in wps only, white screen area:

• touch to toggle infoscreen
• long press upper region for file browse
• long press lower region for playlist

To use a mod, overwrite the existing file in your .rockbox/wps folder

Hi there - Just tried your theme on my iPod Video (5th Gen).  I think it'd going to be a great addition to the rest of my themes.

I particularly like the 'infoscreen' facility - Is there any way the duration can be made to remain longer than the 3 or 4 seconds it currently stays onscreen...like say, 20 seconds ?

Thank you for your feedback  . I don't own an iPod so I couldn't try out how the timeout feels like and I'm happy abut the feedback from a iPod owner. I was even thinking first if I should display the infoscreen only when hold is "on" on targets without touchscreen. What do you think of this idea?
I now have 2 requests for changings. I will post a modded .wps file here with a longer timeout when I'm back from holidays in a week or so.

This would make it pretty much perfect in my opinion.

I tried to make a modded WPS file that could fit your needs. I finally did not increase the timeout on volume change, I added the option of the "hold" switch because you seemed to like it. Check out the second attachment of the first post. Please tell me if it is how you wanted it to have.

I'd like to bring attention to a bug that may or may not be already in the works to be fixed.  When a song is paused then resumed on an 80GB iPod Video 5.5G, the song title disappears, maybe because the font color changes to white?  This is the most well developed, visually appealing theme I've stumbled upon so far, so I'd like to thank the creators for putting in so much time and effort to make it.  Otherwise, I haven't found any other problems with this theme.

Again, great job making RockBox look so nice!

Butt really interesting is the bug you are talking about. The intention with the pause is that title and artist should turn grey when you press pause. On my iBasso DX50 it works well.
I will have a look at this problem with the iPod video simulator.
But could you be so kind and take a screenshot too in the meantime? It is not impossible, that simulator and real device behave differently.

I've tried again with the video simulator and could not get the white title you've mentioned.

please do 3 screenshots 1 before pause, 1 at pause and 1 after pause. This would be very nice!

Sorry for the late reply, been dealing with an illness.  But the problem was resolved by reinstalling rockbox and the theme.  Which is great news.  I now have a bug-free, visually appealing theme that doesn't cause lagging!

If it is possible, could you please make the titlebar say "USB Connected" instead of "Track Info" like it does now, when the USB is inserted?
Other than that, this theme is perfect!

i don't know exactly what you mean. There is no text that supposed to display "Track Info" when USB is inserted.
Are you tanking about WPS or menu screen? And is it in the black or white area?
A screenshot would speak louder than words  .
