Greetings! It's been a while i wanted to start something on this subject.
i have this iRiver H10 20GB since 2005 and it's still a great player, with more than decent sound and functions that makes smartphones look silly by comparison. i found out about Rockbox a couple of weeks later when i got it, and i'm finally planning an upgrade. [and by the way replacing the battery for a new one. it used to last longer for years but now holds the charge for a mere 30 minutes.]
so, before i proceed to add more science into this thing, does anybody find objectionable the installation of an SSD like a KingSpec 1.8" ZIF 40pin, 32GB or 64GB?
I do believe that as long the 40pin interface fits, and communicates with the CPU board it should be detected by the iRiver like any other hard drive.
i know many people have upgraded to a CF card adapter or a Toshiba 120Gb HDD for that player, something i've been considering a couple of years ago, and wonder, using a pure flash storage what kind of max capacity it would reach using this support.
