Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility
install failure, possible bricked device
(1/1)

Welp, got a brand new Sansa Clip Zip, thought I'd try Rockbox on it.
After some fumbling around, I got what I believed to be all the the appropriate files/settings in place. I went by the steps here:
http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/GraphicalInstall
I got to the screen displayed in the very last image in the above link, hit OK.
I hit the "Eject" button in the utility.
Upon doing so, the screen on my Sansa went black. I unplugged it from the usb and it is now unresponsive. When I plug it back into the usb, Windows tells me the device is malfunctioning and is not recognized.
Hopefully I didn't just brick a brand new MP3. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Technically you haven't even installed anything yet, so I don't see how you could have bricked the player. My guess is the player just crashed. Probably holding the power button will reboot it.

Yep, its alive again, and the new firmware in place. Thanks.
