Remember my location in file browser list. Or jump to current track location.

(1/1)

boatinrob:
When I manually browse my files list and select a track, Rockbox remembers my browsing position so at next browse I can resume going down my list. But if my device shuts off, it resets the location and I have to manually scroll back to the location. Not a huge deal - but with 450 files, scrolling takes a little time.

Would be nice to have it either remember the last list browsing postition, or simply jump to the location of the current track in the list.

This was automatic in factory firmware and seems so simple. Maybe I missed something?

I'm on Sansa Clip Zip 4g.

I think automatic resume does something like this.

Evil Joe:
Sorry for the bump, but I found this thread because I had the same question except that I have Automatic Resume on, so it automatically plays and continues where it left off when I shut the MP3 player down. However, it does not save my place in the File Viewer. I just skimmed through the Rockbox manual and couldn't find anything that might correct that. I have a long list of artist folders, so if I'm going through a band's albums in sequential order and I shut the device off before I get to the next album, it's kind of tedious to have to scroll back through to find the band's name in the list again. Anyone know if this can be remedied?

Edit: Okay it looks like Automatic Resume goes back to the exact place in a track after you change tracks, not after you shutoff the MP3 player.
