Playlist Location Parameters
(1/1)
oHUTCHYo:
Hi Guys,
New user with a Clip+ and latest build. Scouts honour Ive searched and cannot find a straight answer.
I use Foobar to create M3U playlists. Question; what are the parameters on where a playlist file can reside, particular when the target music is on a microsd? Does the playlist file need to reside in a strict folder amongst internal memory or can it reside anywhere on the microsd card?
Although the player is finding the playlist its content is showing empty. Clearly Im going wrong somewhere and my searching on here is failing to present the answer, as is the manual.
Thanks :)
saratoga:
Playlists are just lists of file paths. If they are absolute paths they can be saved anywhere and it won't matter so long as the path is correct. If they are relative paths, then they have to be saved such that the path from the playlist location is correct.
The easiest thing to do is open the m3u file in a text editor and then see why the files its listing aren't where it says they are.
oHUTCHYo:
Thank you, but I guess what I meant to ask was; where does Rockbox scan for M3U? Everywhere including external cards it sounds? Then it compiles them all together within the playlist catalogue.
saratoga:
Rockbox does not scan for m3u files. They are lists of file paths. There is nothing to scan.
