Classic Line-Out problem

bachankas:
Hi,

I have iPod Classic 160 GB (thin). After installing RB everything works fine, but Line-Out doesn't work, after plugging in FiiO E1 iPod doesn't play. Tried few headphones, no effect. Charging and USB connecting with computer works fine.

I uninstalled RB, on original software Line-Out works, FiiO plays with everything.

My friend's iPod Classic on official firmware also plays fine, but he doesn't want to install RB, so I can't check how's the case with his player.

Checked "Line Out" option in Settings, no matter if it's on or off, my iPod doesn't play from LO.

Anyone got idea how can I make it work?

That's an amplifers powered by the iPod. Since there is no support for the apple accessory protocol on the 6g I kind of doubt the amp will be powered.

So I won't be able to plug any headphone amp, right?

I like my iPod with modded HTX7 now and it's great, but possibility of more powerful output signal would give better synergy with better headphones... :)

That amp is only a few dB more powerful than the stock headphone out on the classic, and you're not using particularly high impedance headphones.  Do you really care about a few dB more volume?  I would think you're probably listening quite far below max anyway.

I rather think about some better headphone amp like iBasso T5 and some LOD cable for some more requiring headphones, FiiO E1 is not mine, just wanted to test it. Classic has high output impedance and large, nice headphones can sound bad with it.

It's just plan for future, I'm not changing anything right now.
