Automatic resume not working on podcasts (Sansa Clip Zip)

I thought I had  Automatic Resume set on my Sansa Clip Zip. But if I am listening to a podcast and I accidentally knock the Left or Right button (which I do all the time!), the podcast starts again at the beginning and I am unable to resume where I left off.

Am I doing something wrong, or does Automatic Resume not work in the way I expect it to?

Automatic resume starts at the last part of a file you played. It doesn't prevent you from seeking around in the file.
