Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility
Updating to current build from 3.13
Neongrau:
i recently updated my rockbox 3.13 install to latest build, hoping to resolve occasional usb flaws (player freezes when connecting).
all went fine using the utility although there were several files i removed manually which are obviously not needed anymore (equalizer
folder and 2 fonts)?
here is the changes i found out so far, would be cool if you could help me here.
- database not working anymore, recreation was necessary (any chance to import the old 3.13 database?)
- little visual flaws not present before on my clip zip with ics style theme, especially in radio mode (loudnessmeter issue with colour)
- equalizer + fonts
maybe someone could list all major changes since 3.13 and possible solutions to it? i would really appreciate it.
thanks in advance

The changelog link on the front page to our MajorChanges wiki page will probably work for that. If you want a more detailed list, there is also a "since release" link on the front page that shows all changes since 3.13.
Neongrau:
hi saratoga and thanks for your reply.
looking at http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/MajorChanges was the first thing i did of course, but it isnt very detailed.
that is why i hoped to get some further explanations here, especially on the database problem.
i still hold a backup of 3.13 and the database files are simply not accepted, although (at least) the filenames are equal. rockbox always asks for creating it form scratch. ???
i also have the emulator running my 3.13 build. is it possible to export the database to txt for instance and import it in clip zip? i would really like to keep all my stats.
p.s.: i never tried going back to a previous build. is it possible to overwrite with 3.13 again without running into troubles?
p.p.s.: btw, i sometimes had 'corruption' issues after refreshing the database leading to recreation as well. (filesystem is ok)
Neongrau:
edit: ok, all fine now. i created a fresh database (clip zip) with current build and imported the db textfile from emulator with 3.13.

The database internal structures were changed, and so it needs to be rebuilt. In general, the database is not necessarily portable, so it'll have to be rebuilt from time to time.
