Battery completely dies after less than a day

Also, verify that the device is actually off when the battery is run down, and not crashed or still running with the power off timer accidentally disabled.

Hello there, I am new to this forum, and will try to introduce myself later...
Now shortly, I have two H340 Iriver players which showing similar behavior as yours. They can not be totally turned off from the battery point of view :) , because both of them are sinking about 20mA in off state. So battery becomes totally empty after 3-4 days.
As I am involved with embedded hw and sw design, I can help but this time, I am not sure if it is a bug (as it seems me) or it is a player's feature? I was googling for some info on this problem and even found that some people were thinking that it was normal behavior (that H3x0 made battery empty after few days of no use).
Back to story, my players look like to be completely turned off: there is no single voltage inside them (3.3 or 1.8) in off state, but still there is ~20mA current flow. Something is broken probably but it is hard to isolate which one component is bad i.e. to isolate charging circuit from pcf... but it can be done with some pcb tracks cut or desoldering ICs.
My players are from different HW versions (there is some obvious difference in battery charging circuits) but still they are showing identical behavior.
As I said I am willing to help, have some instruments for hw debug, and also have evident interest :)
I can track problems in HW, but first I need any info from more experienced H3x0 owners. Is there any people who can remember if there was some story about those 'issues' on misticriver forums?

The very first thing to check is if Original firmware do the same. Boot OF, turn off the player and measure power consumption in this state.

Hi,
I am going to check it again, cause I have already done that some time ago. If I remembered well, player sinks current in off state no matter what fw was running before. So everything is pointing to some hw malfunction (lx2201, one OR gate xx32, or philips power management ic: pcf, or who knows...)
I am just wandering how many players have this issue: I have two, second handed, different HW version, and both have same malfunction.
It seems to me like some system fault :(

Hi just short update in the case that somebody has similar problem.
I have confirmed that player sinked current in off state no matter what fw was running before. Also I have noticed something interesting with one player i had in front of me: It falls in "charhing" state even without DC adaptor or USB cable plugged in (first checked from rockbox: system/debug/view battery) So I started with charger circut debug and found that LX2201 was fault. USBIN pin is somehow internally joined with VDD pins, and who knows what else is bad inside. It has to be replaced.
This players sinks about 10mA in off state.
