Slightly OffTopic: Replacement Battery for Sansa Clip ZIP: BAK 303038 3.7V 300mA

Hi,

on the net I found a source for a LiPo battery, which seems
at least very similiar to what is in the Sansa Clip ZIP.

Currently th eonly diffence I found is:
The battery of the Sansa Clip ZIP has three wires, the one I found
on the net has two.

As it seems, these kind of batteries has a little PCB, which protects
the LiPo itslef from being overcharged or underdischarged.

My question is:
Is it possible/thinkable/expectable (insert more here), that this missing
thir wire is simply not soldered by to the PCB but the PCB is already
capable to deliver this third signal if connected?
Or am I totally on the wrong way?
Does anyone already know of a source for a replacement battery with three
wires?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Best regards,
mcc

Its possible, but I would not count on it.

If you want a replacement battery, its probably easiest to just buy another player and take the battery out of it.  The cost is very low.

Hi Saratoga,

thanks for your reply.

What does "low' mean. Here (europe) you pay for a 4GB model 40EUR
from a reliable seller.
At least for me this is not "low" for just a replacement battery, which
normally costs under 10 EUR.
Do you better (cheaper) sources for replacement batteries?

Best regards,
mcc

The third cable is for thermistor which allows to monitor battery temperature. It is probably missing on the battery of question.
