ROCKBOX On Sansa C250

(1/1)

HERCULES1X:
I have a Sansa C250 and see that all the other models of Sansa are represented as being compatible with ROCKBOX, but I don't see Sansa C250. Is the C250 model incompatible with ROCKBOX? Anyone have good or bad experience with using the C250 with ROCKBOX? I would like to hear of it

Thanks

saratoga:
The c200 series is compatible with rockbox (see the list on the front page).  The quality of the port depends a little bit on which specific c250 you have.  The v1 is quite stable, while the v2 has somewhat lower battery life and is perhaps a bit less stable.  Most likely you have a v1 though, as the v2 was only made in limited numbers and few of them exist.

HERCULES1X:
Hey Saratoga

I checked the setting on the C250 and it says Model 01.01.05P. I will assume this is the version 1 you are speaking of that is more stable.

A second question I have concerning using ROCKBOX with the C250. At present I can only use a memory card of 2 gigs with this unit. Will ROCKBOX allow me to use larger memory cards like a 4 or 8 gig? The prices of these 4 and 8 gig cards has dropped quite a bit lately and I thought it would be great to be able to expand the music collection and hopefully this software will allow it better than the software that came with the unit...

Thanks

saratoga:
Yes, there is no limit in rockbox, although for cards 64GB and larger you will have to make sure they are formated at FAT32.

Thanks Saratoga for answering my questions...
