Ipod Classic (7th Gen) 1TB mSata SSD and Rockbox??

But what about a custom tarkan mod?..

And I confidently insist that 128 GB mSATA SSD is OK only because it's using 3.3V instead of 1TB mSATA SSD, that uses 5.0V. So I think it's not applicable for any iPod for now.
Anyway it'll be great to listen to any success stories about installing 1TB in iPod.

These mSata SSDs run on 3.3v not 5.0v.
That information is a misprint. All mSata drives accept the same voltage and that is 3.3v. Check the photo attached.

Re the iRiver, not all mSata drives will work in the iRiver H300 series. The limitation appears to be peak current use. I had a lot of difficulty, for instance, with a Mushkin 250GB mSata unit. The only way to confirm compatibility is to take a punt, buy one, and check it out - or wait for someone else to do that. Who's first?

I don't know much about iPod CLASSIC (I mean 6, 6.5, 7G) but I know for sure that Samsung 840 EVO MZ-MTE1T0BW won't work with iPod 5.5G because of PATA-to-mSATA adapter, which works at 3.3V, and Samsung 840 EVO mSATA 1TB uses 5V (proof: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage/MZ-MTE1T0BW (see Full Specs there).

But I found out that Samsung PM851 512GB MZMTE512HMHP will be working fine: http://www.centralcomputers.com/ccp91131-samsung-pm851-mzmte512hmhp-00000-512gb-msata-mini-mzmte512hmhp-0000-drisam512gbs.htm But it's so pricey, even at eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-PM851-512GB-mSata-Internal-Solid-state-drive-SSD-/301094165400?pt=US_Solid_State_Drives&hash=item461a9c5b98

Not really. I've tried those 500GB mSata SSD with an adapter. Ipod will recognize the SSD and run rockbox firmware but it will be very unstable. Also, the SSD heats up a lot and consumes lots of battery within a short period of time. The main problem is the heat. It becomes usually hot quickly.
