Frequency and bitwise support on MA9 and rockbox in general.
« on: April 07, 2014, 03:07:33 PM »
Guys, Its hard to get this information anywhere. And I would love to get straight answers:

- Does rockbox play using 48KHz and higher? Or it is downsampling before sending data to device?
- I can see in header files those freq listed but It doesn't make me sure about how things happen there.

If anyone could answer this question - would be awesome :)

:D Thanks, so it does play 48Khz without downsampling.

It was crazy difficult to find one answer.

Im developer too, sometimes its faster to ask than digging in forums.

Thanks again.

This setting is not documented apparently. Anyway this is in Settings->Playback Settings->Frequency. You can choose between 44.1 and 48 kHz

Thanks, one more question. Rockbox does upsampling from lower rates to 48 when that option is set?

Yes, everything must be output at the same rate.
