Database not initializing?

(1/1)

Eleven13:
Hey everyone,

I put about 26gb of music on my ipod 5.5gen last night (the path was F:/.rockbox/music) and all of the music was in FLAC format that I ripped using dbpoweramp. The music was in folders, so for example F:/.rockbox/music/band_name/album/song.flac. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but when I go to initialize my database, it gets to "1503 found" and then never does anything else. How long should this process take? I wanted to let it run overnight but when I woke up the ipod went to sleep or something (battery was still near full) and when I clicked database it asked me if I wanted to initialize again, went straight to "1503 found" and that was it.

Also, the only 3 folders that I have in "Files" are "Calenders", "Contacts", and "Notes", I don't have any folder for music in there or anything at all.

Did I do something wrong?

Thanks

This behaviour is absolutely 100% expected.

You are to put your media absolutely anywhere *but* the ./rockbox directory.

By default, the file Browser won't show the /.rockbox directory, and the Database will not scan there.

Put the media in /Music (or wherever, just not in /.rockbox) instead and you will find things work a whole lot better for you.

Oh wow, what an idiot, and here I am thinking it said put the music in any folder within the .rockbox directory but not in the directory itself.
Thanks for your help!
