so far this drive looks to be a better solution

it already has a zif connector so it does not need the special adapter.
and it needs about half the power

volt x amps = watts

the crucial m500 uses 3 watts of power under load
the wintec appears to use 1.5 watts or 1.75 watts according to this (page eight):
