Sansa Clip+: power button swap?

Hi
The power button on my clip+ died recently.
It still starts every time I plug it into a charger but I was wondering if anyone could help me switch the function of the power button with a combination of 2 other keys or something like that. (Maybe home and select long press or something like that).
I searched the forum and found that it can be done on similar players but I'm not an expert so I'm not sure how to do it for this player.

Can anyone guide me through it?

You can make it so that in rockbox the buttons do different things by editing the keymap file and recompiling.  However, this will not have any effect on the device before rockbox boots, so you will still need to plug in an external power source to turn the device on.
