Removing/restricting access to some items
(1/1)
ztwist:
Hello,
I am brand new to the Rockbox firmware and this forum. I have installed Rockbox on my sons' Sansa Clip Zips using the Rockbox Utility on a Mac.
My kids are young and I want to remove their access to couple things on the device. Specifically, the game Doom (too violent for us), and the FM radio (too much raunchy music these days).
How might I do that? Any suggestions framed for a nubie would be helpful.
Thanks!
ZT

You can remove the FM radio from the menu (i believe the manual explains this).
Doom won't work by default unless you install the game's levels, so as long as you don't do that its already effectively disabled.

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply.
I have searching through the manual

but have not been able to find anything that describes how to do that.
Any other potential direction for me?

Thank you so much!
It took me a while, but I've now got the hang of changing the main menu and all the other cool things you can do by editing the cfg file.
Very grateful for your help
