Different view/navigation on ipod classic 6g is it possible?

I am running rockbox on ipod 6g and I love it, I am playing with settings and themes however I find one thing that I would like to change but do not know how.

When you navigate/browse everything is shown as a list, it is fine for file browsing (many catalogs) but when you got just 8 elements on screen it just ask for different view i. e. bigger icons, 3 icons in the row, 3 rows, ipod screen is perfect for this.

Is it possible to have it by modifying theme or some more advance stuff with UI? How it can be done?

I suspect that it is more advanced so that is why I posted here.

The rockbox UI is list-based, and this cannot be changed without developing a new one.

However, if you use a smaller font, you can have more list items on the screen at once.

It is possible to do that with a theme currently, but it probably wont look any good.
