Sansa Fuze: Does RockBox use more space?
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:43:22 PM »
Does RockBox copy all the music files from the original software to the RockBox software?  Meaning it's doubling the storage used on my device.  Because if I hook up my Fuze to my computer, it says the music folder only has 4.?gb used, but when in WMP (to add music) it says 7gb is used up.  And its only an 8gb device, so I'm running out of space.  The only reason I really use RockBox is for the setting that disables the blue ring because when the ring is on, my screen is black.  Has there ben a fix for that yet?  Thanks in advance.

Never mind.  I found a video that I didn't realize was on there. You can delete this thread.  Unless someone can answer if there's a fix to the blue ring.

The behaviour you describe with "the blue ring" sounds like a hardware fault specific to your device, I'm afraid. This is not intended function.

If I parse your initial post correctly, this was an issue for you with the original firmware as well, which indeed points to it being a hardware fault. Rockbox and the original firmware are entirely separate, if a bug affects both firmwares, it is almost certainly a hardware fault (or two entirely separate teams of developers managed to make exactly the same mistake, a mistake which apparently only affects your device...rather phenomenal odds against that one).

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
