Fixing Olympus M-robe MR100

(1/1)

remusgrrrl:
I hope this is the right place to post this. Sorry if I goofed.

My mrobe was accidentally formatted, and now it has no files. I know at one time there was a download of the original system files on mrobe.org, but the site is no longer functional.

Does anyone know where I can get the files to repair the file system on my m-robe?

I keep getting the error right now of "No Font File"

Or, if someone has rockbox on an MR100, would you be willing to send me a copy of the files?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

b0hoon:
Try here: http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/npls/download/software/

Google is your friend (in most of the cases).

I have tried this a few times and it won't update the firmware no matter what I do. I open the program, it pops up saying it is extracting files, and then goes away. Then I start m:trip, sync, and nothing happens. Never asks me if I want to update firmware or anything. When I eject the player and try it, it still says "No Font File"

Hmm... works for me here.

Ok, try this: get the mr-100 package, use winrar  to extract it. The easiest way to do this is to right click on it -> extract to here. Format the player as FAT32, make the "System" directory on it and copy two files into it: PP5020.mi4 and MR100.fnt.

Edit: If it doesn't work too, try to place the MR100.fnt in the "Font" subdirectory of the "System" dir. Please give some results here.

OMG.....I feel like a complete idiot. I did what you said, but it came up with retry to sync. Then it wouldn't recognize it. So I copied the entire contents of the extracted firmware update onto the m-robe itself and it updated itself (the mrobe) when I turned it on.

I didn't know I was supposed to put the firmware update ON the mrobe.  :P

Anywho, after uninstalling and then reinstalling the mtrip software....I have a working Mrobe!!

Thank you so very, very, very much. I couldn't of done this without you.
