Checksums are a way of sorta getting a thumbprint of a file. If they don't match, then you got the wrong files.

Kai - you don't say anything about what device you have (iriver? ipod? which model?) nor which version of rockbox you are running.
For what it's worth, pacbox runs at the correct game speed at 20fps on my ipod video running an official cvs build from early last week.
