Kenwood MG-G508  608 708 are very well, with physical keys like sansa clip serials
and bigger screens. better sound.
Touch keys is not suitable for me ,like ipod or X-FI3 ,Fuze+ .

People port Rockbox to players they use, and Kenwood's are evidently uncommon. If you want to hack one, go for it. Looking online they seem to be using .sb for firmware updates so perhaps our existing tools can help.

These days common players on sale are much fewer than ever before.

rna023, hm. i see same situation in russian digital stores. ipods and sony players on top and a lot low-end 'china'-players.
i'm waiting for FiiO X1.
if you have one of Kenwood MG and can give devs for a time - connect with pamaury.

Devs work on what they want to, when they want to.

It is likely that if a developer had interest in pursuing this, they would do so. No offence.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

The problem with players that are only sold in a few markets or in very small volumes is that its relatively unlikely that anyone who wants to work on firmware will ever own one.

I'd say if you're interested in this, you'll have to do the work yourself, although the fact that some use .sb means that maybe some of the previous work people have done on the imx players can help you out.
